SHENG-FANG CHIU |
Recorder player Sheng-Fang Chiu, soloist, chamber music performer and teacher. Born in Taiwan, she came to Europe to further pursue her interest in the recorder and early music, studying with Michael Posch and Anna Januj.
Her solo and chamber music performances have taken her throughout Europe and Asia. She also appears regularly in prominent concert halls throughout Europe, such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein, Cuvilliés-Theater, Gewandhaus Leipzig etc., as well as renowned international festivals such as the Salzburger Festspiele, and the Istanbul Music Festival, and performed as an opening concert Soloist for the Tartini Festival in Piran and "Bach for All" Festival Prague.
Besides her performance activities, she is also passionate about education and has dedicated much of her time to teaching. She has been invited to give masterclasses in Austria, Germany, Taiwan, South Korea, Poland, Czech Republic, Iran and Hungary including courses at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and Prague Conservatory.
She was lecturer for major subject recorder and chamber music at University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig from 2017 til 2021, and lecturer for major subject recorder and chamber music at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna since 2014.
